My Honest Review of The Hues Home Elegant Curtains and Shades

I’ve been working on creating a bedroom retreat in my bedroom for the past year and things are finally coming together now. For my windows, I wanted something luxurious and well made to really bring the look together. Despite searching for months, I couldn’t find what I was looking for. And then The Hues Home reached out to me. And when I went to their website and saw all the beautiful fabric options, I was in heaven. Their elegant curtains and natural woven shades were the exact look and feel that I wanted for my bedroom.

The main thing that really stood out about The Hues brand was the amount of elegant colors and textures they offered. If you have seen my bedroom retreat posts on IG, you know that I am going for a moody natural feel with a lot of dark earthy colors and luxurious fabrics.

So when I found The Hues, the images and options they had online completely aligned with the ideas I had for my bedroom curtains and shades. I wanted curtains that created a look of luxury and shades that inspired warmth. Plus I wanted to make sure both were made from quality fabric and materials. The Hues Home curtains and blinds were the perfect fit to complete my bedroom look.

Ordering & First Impressions

I found that the website was great for visualizing the curtain colors and styles, allowing me to change the color and even zoom in to see the fabric better. Plus, I found out you can opt for varying types of lining for the curtains and two different degrees of blackout, either 100% blackout or 50% blackout.

Before ordering the final curtains and blinds, I requested samples so I knew if I was going to really like the way the fabric looked and felt. Once I made my final decision, I received my order within a week and was truly impressed by the quality of the products.

Installation & Setup

The curtains I bought have a simple back tab that you can easily slide onto any curtain rod. For the natural shades, I chose a cordless inside mount that came with all the equipment needed to hang them.

The sizing was perfect for both. I wanted the curtains to pool a bit on the floor, so I ordered a longer length to get that luxe look. When ordering the shades, I did have to do a bit of measuring to make sure everything was going to fit correctly, and the measurements were really easy to enter on the website. When everything arrived, all the measurements were perfect.

Design, Fabric & Functionality

I was truly impressed by the look and feel of the actual curtains and shades.

The curtains are made of a thick velvet material that is woven with a shimmer making them look quite lavish. I also love that they are blackout, making sure that no light gets in during the wee hours of morning.

As for the shades, I chose a natural look that accents the already natural look and feel of my room. I wanted a shade that let a little bit of light through so if they are closed during the day, there is still a brightness in the room. The straw color I chose and the wooden fibers really accentuate the regal retreat I was going for.

Style Impact: Before & After

As you can see from the before and after images, the new window treatments really elevate the look and feel of my master bedroom. It now feels cozier and more elegant due to the colors and materials of the shades and curtains.

Honest Pros & Cons

My honest opinion is that the products from The Hues Home are quality products that are really well made and offer many options in color and texture to elevate the look of a room.

The only con that I noticed was that they are folded up tightly in the delivery package and therefore must be steamed before hanging. But that is really a very small extra task for getting the overall look I wanted.

In terms of pricing, it ranges depending on the look you’re going for. I would definitely take advantage of the sales they have to get the best deals on everything!
