One of my favorite scriptures has always been James 2:17 which says ‘Faith without works is dead’. As a self proclaimed faith walker, that scripture has always resonated with me. It’s great to have faith, but you have to put some action behind it as well.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been a creative. I like to joke & say I came out the womb that way lol. But honestly, I know I inherited that from my mom. She was a school teacher who is also a lifelong creative. I still remember all the projects I would help her with and how she always gave me the freedom to be creative.
In 2005, I started a handbag line which started off as a hobby. Little did I know, only a few years later, I’d be stepping on out faith & leaving my corporate job to pursue that business full time! I had an amazing journey with that business. I met so many wonderful people and was afforded so many amazing opportunities but after years of pursuing that venture, my passion for it died and after much prayer I decided to shut that business down.
Fast forward to 2018, I started this blog not long after having our son. I really felt led to share some of the DIY projects I had been working on. Then in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, my husband and I started doing a lot of updates in our home. And that’s when my brand, One Handy Momma really started to grow.
Being on this journey the past few years has been nothing short of amazing. I feel so blessed to be able to share what I genuinely love to do and inspire so many others in the process. That is truly a testament to God’s grace & favor in my life and I’m so grateful.
Moving forward when you’re still a bit unsure about the outcome—that’s where real trust actually shows up. Faith isn't just a word we throw around; it’s how we choose to live our lives every single day. If you’re waiting on something big, you’ve got to do your part too. Don't just sit there—take that first step, make the phone call, or finally get started on that idea you’ve been sitting on. Trust God, for sure, but be ready to actually get moving when He gives you the green light.
